Vintage Reed & Barton 12 1/2 Inch Long Silver Plate Basket Pierced Edge Intrica

This basket has a very beautiful, complex design.  The outside edge is a pierced band that is  approximately 1 1/4 inches wide.  The handle is a repousse rope and in the center of the handle is a medallion that is meant for initials although this particular basket does not have any initials.
The only marks are on the inside of the base and these marks are 1944 and L3. It measures 12 1/2 inches long and approximately 9 1/2 inches high with the handle extended.  I stated that it was Reed and Barton based on locating another identical basket that the dealer stated was Reed and Barton. I have not found a specific mark or name "Reed and Barton" on the piece.
Condition:  It is in good condition for its age, the handle goes up and down smoothly. It does not have a high shine and would be worth re-silvering because the design is very well done.
