Our items are all used, mostly Victorian and a few vintage. They have defects. Not the first item we sell is perfect. Up for auction is a Victorian quadruple plate / silver plate centerpiece basket or cake stand by the Meriden Britannia Company. The basket was manufactured prior to 1898 when the Meriden Company was acquired by The International Silver Company and before manufactures discontinued the process of Quadruple Plating hollow ware in 1912. The handle, reticulated feet and rim feature an east lake design and the center of the basket features a cartouche with a floral center. Each of the four inner corners has a spoon cut design. It stands about 9.5 inches tall to the top of the handle, 4 3/8 inches tall to the tip of the rim and 9 inches across the handle. There are no monograms or dents and the handle and all four feet are secure with out repairs. We will supply additional information and pictures if the buyer requests such. We do not believe in Buyers or Sellers Remorse. If we sell an item for less than worth we will still ship as part of our agreement but if you purchase an item we expect you to live up to your part of the bargain. Please ask questions. We will gladly answer.
