    A very sweet piece of Victorian Silverplate - a Bride's or CAKE BASKET - a footed compote with a swing handle. The interior of the piece is decorated with a repeating design of impressed clusters of fruit and berries - the embossed border has a basket-weave textured ground with a ring of flower filled diamond shaped boxes - all topped off with an openwork handle with "bamboo" sides.
    The basket was made by E.G. Webster & Bro., N.Y. and is marked Quadruple Plated - Hard White Metal - (pattern #) 94. This mark was used from 1873-1886,  although Webster was in operation from 1859-1928.
    Measurements
    :   11.75" tall w/handle up, 6" high to rim, 8.5" wide, 4.75" wide foot.
