Victorian Aesthetic Movement Rogers Silver Plate Cake Basket with Butterflies

A shiny, glittering, whimsical piece of American industry with a very pretty butterfly design.
American silver plate tiered cake basket by Rogers. The central well of the basket is chased with butterflies and sprays of flowers.  The line quality is good and the design is highly artistic with a natural feel. The rim of the basket has a repoussé floral design band. The round pedestal base has large globular apex with pretty, etched band. The pedestal itself is globular. The basket may have been recently re-silvered as it has polished up very well.  The handle is simple but has ornate pins. The handle stands up on its own.
There is the Rogers mark under the basket in the pedestal. There is a bolt and washer hiding the mark. You can just make out ROGERS.

CONDITION
There are small wear scratches in the central well of the basket and a small loss on the center rim. The basket rests flat on a table and shows no dents or warping. There is a loss underneath on the top of the pedestal, which you cannot see it unless the piece is turned over. There is another small loss on the base above a decorative band. The piece has much of its silver and shines nicely.
A rich, glittering piece manufactured over a hundred years ago, but that can still be used today to serve your guests dessert with style.
