Silverplated Reed & Barton "Cranes" Brides Basket W/ Hand-Painted Glass Bowl

Description

For sale is a silverplated bride's basket with a beautiful hand-painted glass bowl. The basket is marked "Mf'd and Plated by Reed & Barton 3930" and is in wonderful antique condition: just a bit of white silver-polish residue, but no breaks, dents, or repairs; there is loss of silverplate on the handle and outside base (inside base silverplate is intact).  It has what appears to be four "cranes" feet, all in good condition. The handle has an ornate pattern, which is repeated around the outside of the base. The basket measures 13.25" high and 10" at its widest.  The bowl is pink-outside and white-inside glass, which has a hand-painted floral and butterfly motif; there gold accent paint on the scalloped upper rim, some of which is missing; it has a smooth pontil.  The bowl measures 9" across and 3.5" high, and is in good antique condition: no breaks, cracks, or repairs; however, there is what looks like a partial coffee-cup yellow ring (??) on the inside bottom of the bowl, and there are flakes and two small chips on the inside of the upper rim, which do not detract from the bowl's beauty.  Simply stunning!
