    Description

    WMF 1906 Secessionists Silver Plated Basket W/ Original Glass Insert 10" Long- RARE Antique.
    This is a scarce antique Secessionist silver plated basket dating from around 1906. It retains its original glass insert or liner. The oval shaped basket is decorated with a series of cut out and impressed stylized geometric designs in the Arts and Crafts style. The original glass insert has a complementary design cut into its base. The basket is marked with the WMF bird mark as well as OX and i/o marks. The basket is pictured in the 1906 WMF catalog. It measures about 10 inches long, about 2 3/4 inches deep, and about 9 inches high. It is in good condition with some wear to the silver plate with areas of tarnish and brass showing through. The glass insert is in good condition, although there are 2 small nicks on the glass rim. See photos
