Description
Antique silverplated bride's basket dates back to the late 1800's.It was produced by Homan Silverplate Co. of Cincinnati, Ohio.
This type of piece was very popular with brides of the era and back then came with a glass bowl which is long gone.
This is a piece of the past that can be used for so many things today. It can be used for serving hot biscuits, cupcakes, brownies; displaying fruit, Christmas ornaments, Easter eggs and so much more.
It measures approx. 9 3/8" in diameter, 3" tall to the top of the bowl, and when the handle is up measures about 9" tall. The hinges on the handle are in very good condition but this type of handle is not meant to stand up on its own.
This is in good antique condition. There is still a good mount of silver in the bowl area, but the rim and the sides and legs have lost most of their silver from polishing over the 125+ years. Still it is a beautiful work of the past and is still quite attractive.
The only thing I see, other than the normal wear from the ages, is that there is some waviness on side of the bowl that is visible from the bottom. Looking at it from the top you don't even know it is there but I mention it for full disclosure. You can see it in one of the pictures.

My items are from estates, auctions, consignors and other such venues. They are not new.
I am very fussy about what I offer on ebay. I tell you everything I know about an item and what I see. However, I am not an expert in anything.
PayPal is accepted and I only ship to confirmed addresses within the continental United States. All shipping includes tracking and USPO insurance. I package very well. In case of damage the buyer agrees and is responsible to open the claim with the USPO for reimbursement. This can be done by taking the item and its packaging to the USPO or going to the USPO site on-line.
Thank you.
