    Description

    Very Nice piece of "Cabinet Silver", Late 19th Century Berlin Germany. The Basket is Hand Cast ( see last two photos of basket verso). The basket being overall pierce worked. Hallmarked 800 the silver standard for Germany in the late 19th century. Center medallion consists of puttees.
    The basket is in the 18th Century French style of Louis XVI.
    Please note: These baskets are very uncommon. Their original purpose was purely for display in a case or vitrine in parlors, sitting rooms or dining rooms.
