Antique Victorian Silverplate Brides Basket Repousse/Ornate 12"Footed, Replated

Offered is a fabulous high Victorian silver plated 12 inch repousse ornate brides or bread basket with pedestal foot and very ornate handle!  This large, impressive silver plated bride's basket has scalloped rim with applied bunches of flowers intertwined with leaves and curly vines.  Highly detailed elegant and decorative piece! Probably made by Rogers and Smith of New Haven, this 12" diameter footed basket features a case vine and flower rim and heavy cast grape vine/floral swing handle.   This Beauty sits on a pedestal foot and there is plenty of decoration on the fancy handle.  The body of the basket bowl has minor wear to the very center and the basket is also missing the round Rogers and Smith soldered medallion makers mark. Another mark was placed there with the name of the Co, word “Replated” and a date. Basket measures 9.5" tall by 12" wide. Bowl is 3" deep Condition: This gorgeous basket has broken metal and some repairs underneath on each wave near the edge. It is not very visible from face view but shows on a bottom. The condition is reflected in price but the basket can be used and will display beautifully.  Please take a look at pictures, they are part of the description.  Handle is tight as it should be, with no dings or other damage. Still, a wonderful early Victorian era American piece. Sophistication and Charm.  This very decorative piece displays exceptionally well from all angles.
