Antique Meriden silver plate basket tray hand hammered 19th

Description

This is a beautiful hand hammered basket was made by Meriden Silver Plate Co. in the late 19
th
century. The basket is decorated with two girls in relief and a pair of ducks. The work is mixed metal with both silver and gold evident. The basket has a crimped edge and rope decoration applied to the handle that extends down to form feet. The basket is 7 3/8 inches long, 5 5/8 inches wide and 4 ½ inches tall to the top of the handle. The basket is marked on the bottom with the lion mark for Meriden Silver Plate Co. It has a model number of 1006. It is excellent quality and quite a unique item. There is no damage.
