Antique Elkington &Co. Victorian Silver Plate Sugar Basket No Liner Circa 1854

Description

A very unique Hallmarked Antique Elkington & Co. Victorian Silver Plate Sugar Basket without the Liner (bowl).  It is Circa 1854.   It is 4.5" tall X 5" wide at the top plus the
height of the handle when raised of 2.5".
Features:
1.  The sugar basket is
Silver Plate and has Hallmarks on the bottom rim.  The hallmarks are a little hard to read but it appears that they indicate a date of circa 1854
(see photo #3).  There is a number on the bottom of the foot that is 5036.
2.  The basket is a footed swing handle sugar basket with pierced oak and acorn decoration (see photos).
3.  The basket is approximately 7
" tall with the handle raised and 4-1/2" tall with the handle lowered; it is 5" wide at the widest area of the top.
4.  The basket weighs approximately 194 grams.
5.  The are no wires or decorations broken (see photos).
6.  The basket has no liner (bowl) and would need one to be used as a sugar basket but could be used as-is for other things.
7.  There is no original box with the sugar basket.
Note:  This sugar basket is Antique and is pre-owned and has been used, handled, and may show some wear.   It has been wiped down with a clean, dry, soft cloth but we did not try to remove all tarnish or other patina, we leave that to the purchaser.  You must be sure to see all of the photos as they are considered a part of this description (use the eBay zoom feature); we do not assign a level of condition to the sugar basket, you must assess it yourself using the photographs and by asking questions for anything you don't see because once this item has been shipped, it cannot be returned or refunded.
