  • Condition: This lovely antique collectible is in very nice condition but it comes as seen in the main photo, although, I do show an image of how I used it just for ideas. The original glass bowl that came with this piece isn’t part of the package. The piece that holds the two wires that form the basket handle is detached on one side but you only notice it if you try to squeeze them together.

    FOOTED WEDDING / BRIDAL BASKET

    This amazing antique basket is in lovely condition, especially considering that it’s over 120 years old. I’m not sure if these pieces were numbered according to when they were made or not but I’m selling another one that is numbered 1579 and it’s also inscribed with the date of 1883. Also, this company ceased as Meridien Britannia in 1898. This could even be as old as the 1860s.
    I never had the original glass bowl that fit inside but I did have the perfect alternative and I’ve included it in a photo here. Of course, this listing is only for the basket. It measures 11” tall x 6 3/4” wide x 6 5/8” long. The opening for the dish is 5 7/8” x 3 7/8”, measured completely on the inside of the edges.
    This has a pretty floral design all the way around with lots of birds. There are also birds on each side. One side has a spot to put a spoon or fork.
    FINE DETAILS: All sizes are USA Standard. All items are from a smoke-free household but I have two cats so keep this in mind if you have allergies. Regarding the current shipping climate - items may take substantially longer to arrive at their final destinations and seem to be taking unnecessary trips around the entire country before landing in the proper mailboxes.
